Wizzard Software (AMEX: WZE), the world’s premier speech technology company, announced today that the U.S. English version 10.6 of the IBM ViaVoice dictation runtime software is now available to developers and integrators for use in desktop/client applications for Microsoft(R) Windows Vista(R) at http://www.wizzardsoftware.com/ibm_viavoice_sdk.php.
The latest version of ViaVoice 10.6 for Vista allows developers to distribute dictation-powered desktop applications for computers using the Windows Vista operating system. IBM ViaVoice Desktop Dictation for Windows is a proven sophisticated large-vocabulary speaker-dependent voice recognition technology that dynamically converts voice into text for a wide variety of application uses, and has been licensed by Wizzard to developers for use in a wide variety of applications where speech recognition greatly enhances the users experience and productivity.
“IBM ViaVoice is a very powerful and stable speech recognition technology,” said Bruce Phifer, Wizzard General Manager of Technology and Services. “Adding a US English version for Vista to our offerings of this popular technology will help meet the needs of developers looking to service the growing number of Vista users.”
Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) reported last month during the company’s fiscal third-quarter earnings call that Vista sales have surpassed the 140 million mark.
